Artist's Comments

This is for 's contest illustrating a Danny Phantom one-shot she wrote called "Rain" [link]

This is the image that came to my mind when I read the story, Though not an illustration of any specific scene.
The story portrays Jazz and Danny's sibling relationship through a game that they would play every time it rained. Having three siblings myself, I especially liked this story and enjoyed putting it in picture form.

I owe a big thank you to my sister(a brand new deviant. Please welcome her!) for bugging me until I got this done
I was getting kind of frustrated with certain things *coughjazz'sfacecough* and she kept me from giving up. :)

Media used: oil pastels, colored pencil, markers
"Rain"(story and poem)(c) Wings of morphius
Danny and Jazz ( Danny Phantom characters) (c) Butch Hartman

Very well drawn. I liked that fic as well, and it's always nice to see a pic to go with a good story.

Dang it! I was gonna do this one. *sigh* Oh well, I was going to do about three others too. ^^; Love it. Faving.

Very well done! I didn't recognize it as DP fanart until I read your description. Not that the characters aren't recognizable here, it's just that usually fanart isn't this... Good. This art shows immense talent in all aspects, from the distribution to the lineart to the coloration and the shading. Excellent work on the other effects as well, such as the splashes, droplets, and ripples.

Sorry about taking the one you wanted to do, but I am glad you like my entry. I know just what you mean about wanting to do them all. If I had the time I would like to make pictures for about.... five of the stories, but I at this rate I will be lucky if I finish one more.

I will be watching for your entry (entries?) when you submit it. Good luck!

If I ever get anything done. I can't decide what to do! AARG!

I was wondering what you used on this piece? I mean as in media.

Well, I hope you do get something done. You have nice work.

Hmmm.... all the media I used? Well, I did list in the description that I used oil pastel(background), marker(people) and colored pencil(details), but I also made liberal use of my eraser, white colored pencil, and gesso to fix mistakes and add some of the water effects. I also used watercolor paper so the background would end up kind of textured. This whole piece was one big experiment and I learned what worked and what didn't as I went along. :)
:iconobi-quiet:
Well, I took a closer look at it after I commented on the general feel of the piece, and I found myself even more impressed with some of the technique you put into it. That water looks...well...like water. I have a very difficult pulling off shiney, and ever harder time pulling off water. I know the lines, and some techniques and all...but it just doesn't seem to want to work for me.

I was just wondering if you had any tips for me.
